The title descended from the original ECW World Heavyweight Championship of 1992 to 2001; WWE reactivated it in June 2006, awarding it to Rob Van Dam, and presented it as a third world title alongside the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships. Known as the ECW World Championship in 2006 and 2007, it was renamed the ECW Championship in August 2007. The brand and title were discontinued in February 2010, with Ezekiel Jackson as the final champion.

Lineage: ECW → WWE (current home) — The championship of WWE’s revived ECW brand (2006–2010). It is a WWE-era title and does not carry the lineage of the original ECW World Heavyweight Championship that closed with the promotion in 2001.
