WWE's European Championship, established in 1997 as the WWF European Championship with The British Bulldog as the inaugural champion after a tournament that concluded in Berlin. William Regal and D'Lo Brown share the record with four reigns each, and Bulldog's first reign was the longest. A staple of the Attitude Era mid-card, it was renamed the WWE European Championship in 2002 and retired that July when it was unified into the Intercontinental Championship.

Retired on July 22, 2002 when Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam defeated European Champion Jeff Hardy in a unification ladder match on Raw, merging it into the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Van Dam is recognized as the final champion. The final champion was Rob Van Dam.
