TNA's top prize, created in 2007 after the promotion ended its long arrangement to use the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Kurt Angle was the inaugural champion and still holds the record with six reigns. Across 19 years there have been 65 reigns shared by 39 champions. Josh Alexander owns both extremes: his second reign is the longest in the title's history, while his first lasted only a few minutes after he cashed in Option C at Bound for Glory 2021. Sting, at 52, is the oldest champion; Tessa Blanchard, at 24, is the youngest and the only woman to hold the title. The belt carried several names through the company's eras, from TNA World Heavyweight to the Impact Global and Impact World Championship, before returning to the TNA World Championship in 2024.
