One of the oldest women's tag team titles in wrestling, the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship dates to 1952 with Mae Young & Ella Waldek and ran through the territorial era, much of it sparsely documented. June Byers holds a record seven reigns. In 1984 the belts were sold to the WWF to create the WWF Women's Tag Team Championship, and the lineage lay dormant until the NWA revived it in 2021. Allysin Kay & Marti Belle (The Hex) reopened the modern era and are multi-time champions.
